Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). This is a combination of two medicines that controls blood pressure when a single medication is not effective. It helps to lower high blood pressure and thus reduces the chances of future heart attack and stroke. You can take Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule at any time of day, with or without food, but it is best to take it at the same time each day. Keep taking it for as long as advised by your doctor. Even if you feel well, do not stop this medicine on your own because high blood pressure often has no symptoms. If you stop taking it, your condition may get worse. Keeping active with regular exercise, reducing your weight and eating a healthy diet will also help control your blood pressure. Follow your doctor?s advice while taking this medicine. It may cause side effects like taste change, ankle swelling, headache, cough, and stomach upset. It may also cause dizziness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. This might raise the level of potassium in the blood, hence avoid potassium rich food or supplements. You may be asked for regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolytes level while on the treatment. Before taking it, let your doctor know if you have any liver or kidney problems. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor for advice before taking this medicine. You also need to tell your doctor what other medicines you are taking especially those used to treat high blood pressure or heart conditions.

This lowers your blood pressure and reduces your risk of having a stroke, a heart attack, or kidney problems in the future. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well. You should take it regularly as prescribed for this medicine to be most effective, even if you feel better.
The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Dizziness, Edema (swelling), Gastroenteritis, Breathlessness']

Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule is a combination of two medicines: Amlodipine and ramipril which lower blood pressure effectively. It works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood flows more smoothly and the heart can pump blood more efficiently.
Alcohol
Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule as it is deemed unsafe.
Pregnancy
Seek medical advice from your doctor: Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Doctor consultation is advised.
Breast feeding
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Not Safe: Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule may cause side effects such as dizziness, headaches, nausea or tiredness, all of which could affect your ability to concentrate and drive.
Kidney
Caution Advised: Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Regular monitoring of blood pressure is recommended for dose adjustment.
Liver
Caution Advised: Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Inform your doctor if you develop any signs and symptoms of jaundice while taking this medicine.
If a dose of Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C
You have been prescribed Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule for the treatment of high blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure reduces chance of future heart attack & strokes. It may cause dizziness. Get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position. Do not take Cardika AM 5mg/2.5mg Capsule if you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy.
