Derivent LS Drop works by relaxing the muscles of the airways and widens it. As a result, it becomes easier for air to move in and out. It also thins and loosens mucus in the airways, helping you to cough out. This makes you breathe easy and gives relief from symptoms such as tightness in your chest, shortness of breath, wheezing and coughing. Regular exercise and yoga can help improve the symptoms of asthma in the long term, in addition to improving overall health.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Vomiting, Diarrhea, Restlessness, Headache, Rash, Tremors, Muscle cramp, Increased heart rate, Palpitations']

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a marked dropper and take it as directed. Derivent LS Drop may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time. Avoid Derivent LS Drop with caffeine and chocolate as well as food containing caffeine and chocolate such as tea leaves, cocoa beans.

Derivent LS Drop is a combination of two bronchodilators (Etofylline and Salbutamol) and an expectorant (Guaifenesin). The bronchodilators work by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widen the airways. Guaifenesin works by decreasing the stickiness of mucus (phlegm) and helps in its removal from the airways.

Alcohol

Pregnancy

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Derivent LS Drop may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Derivent LS Drop is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving

UNSAFE - Derivent LS Drop may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Derivent LS Drop may cause side effects such as dizziness, increased or uneven heart rate, muscle cramps or muscle pain. This may affect your ability to drive.

Kidney

CAUTION - Derivent LS Drop should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Derivent LS Drop may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Limited information is available on the use of Derivent LS Drop in these patients.

Liver

CAUTION - Derivent LS Drop should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Derivent LS Drop may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Limited information is available on the use of Derivent LS Drop in these patients.

If you miss a dose of Derivent LS Drop, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
