In Iron overload Iron overload, as the name suggests, means excess of iron in the human body. Too much iron can cause organ damage, which can lead to conditions such as cancer, irregular heartbeat and cirrhosis of the liver. Symptoms are related to conditions that arise from iron overload such as high blood sugar levels (diabetes), darkening of the skin, abnormal heart rhythm or arthritis. By using Desferal 500mg Injection, this excess of iron can be decreased to safe levels by removing it from the body through stools. This helps to reduce the risk of organ damage and prevents further complications. Desferal 500mg Injection is given by a doctor or nurse and should not be self-administered. Follow your doctor?s instructions carefully to get maximum benefit.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Rash, Decreased blood pressure, Abdominal pain']

Desferal 500mg Injection traps and removes excess iron which is then excreted mainly in the stools. This reduces the risk of organ damage.

Alcohol

Pregnancy

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Desferal 500mg Injection may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Desferal 500mg Injection is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving

UNSAFE - Desferal 500mg Injection may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. If you experience dizziness or other central nervous disturbances, or impairment of vision with the use of Desferal 500mg Injection then you should refrain from driving a vehicle.

Kidney

CAUTION - Desferal 500mg Injection should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Desferal 500mg Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Desferal 500mg Injection is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.

Liver

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - There is limited information available on the use of Desferal 500mg Injection in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.

If you miss a dose of Desferal 500mg Injection, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
