Treatment of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19)

In Treatment of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) is a highly infectious disease that is caused by a strain of a virus called coronavirus. The most common symptoms are fever, cough, loss of taste or smell, breathing difficulty, nasal congestion, and diarrhea among others. Fapvir Tablet is used to manage these symptoms in mildly to moderately infected individuals and helps you recover from the infection. Fapvir Tablet should be taken only if prescribed by a doctor. If you think you have come in contact with a person who has been infected with Covid-19, or if you feel any of these symptoms, consult your doctor immediately.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Diarrhea, Decreased white blood cell count (neutrophils), Increased liver enzymes']

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Fapvir Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Fapvir Tablet is an antiviral medicine. It stops the SARS-CoV-2 virus from multiplying. By doing so, it decreases viral load in the body, restricts the spread of infection and helps in speeding up the recovery process.

Alcohol

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Fapvir Tablet. Please consult your doctor.

Pregnancy

UNSAFE - Fapvir Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor's advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.

Breast feeding

UNSAFE - Fapvir Tablet is unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby.

Driving

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - It is not known whether Fapvir Tablet alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.

Kidney

CAUTION - Fapvir Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Fapvir Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver

CAUTION - Fapvir Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Fapvir Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

If you miss a dose of Fapvir Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
