Femoston 2/10 Tablet is used for hormone replacement therapy. It is a combination of female sex hormones that helps in relieving symptoms like hot flushes, vaginal dryness and irritation in postmenopausal women. Femoston 2/10 Tablet should be taken with or without food, preferably at a fixed time each day. This is done to ensure consistent levels of medicine in the body. It should be taken as per your doctor's advice. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you. Nausea, headache and breast pain are some common side effects of this medicine. How it works
Femoston 2/10 Tablet is a combination of two hormonal medicines: Estradiol and Dydrogesterone which are a part of hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Estradiol works by restoring the falling levels of estrogen in the body which helps reduce distressing symptoms of menopause. However, it may affect the womb lining (endometrium) and increase the risk of endometrial cancer. Dydrogesterone is added to oppose the harmful effect of Estradiol on the womb lining and reduce cancer risk.
