In Osteoporosis Osteoporosis is a common condition that causes bones to become fragile and brittle so that they break (fracture) more easily. Fractures may be painful and restrict a person?s ability to carry out their normal daily tasks. Fosabond Tablet reduces the risk of a fracture occurring in osteoporosis. It also helps in the growth and development of bones as well as maintain strong bones. Since osteoporosis doesn?t usually have any symptoms such as pain (until a fracture occurs) you might not ?feel? any immediate benefit from your treatment with Fosabond Tablet. Keep taking it untill your doctor asks you to stop. Along with medicines, eat a balanced diet rich in calcium and vitamin D like dairy products, green leafy vegetables etc.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Fosabond Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
Fosabond Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Alendronic Acid and Vitamin D3 which treat osteoporosis. Alendronic Acid is a bisphosphonate. It works by suppressing the activity of osteoclasts, cells that cause destruction of bone. This strengthens the bone and minimizes the risk of fractures. Vitamin D3 helps protect your bones, both by increasing calcium absorption and by supporting muscles needed to avoid falls.
CAUTION - Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Fosabond Tablet. Please consult your doctor.
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Fosabond Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
