Gabantip AT Tablet is a combination medicine used for the treatment of neuropathic pain. It works by increasing the level of chemical messengers in the brain. This helps in regulating the mood and stopping the movement of pain signals from nerves to the brain. Gabantip AT Tablet is taken by mouth with or without food, preferably at bedtime. It is advised to take it at the same time each day as this helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this medicine in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. Finish the full course of the treatment even if you feel better. It is important that this medication is not stopped suddenly without talking to the doctor as it may increase the seizure frequency and can be life-threatening in some cases. Avoid taking antacids with this medicine as antacids make it harder for your body to absorb this medicine. Some common side effects of this medicine are constipation, difficulty in urination, weight gain, and dryness in mouth. Once your symptoms have gone you should still keep taking the medicine until your doctor advises you to stop.

Directions for Use
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Gabantip AT Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
How it works
Gabantip AT Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Gabapentin and Amitriptyline. Gabapentin is an alpha 2 delta ligand which decreases the pain by modulating calcium channel activity of the nerve cells. Amitriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant which increases the levels of chemical messengers (serotonin and noradrenaline) that stop the movement of pain signals in the brain. Together, they relieve neuropathic pain (pain from damaged nerves).
Alcohol
UNSAFE - It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Gabantip AT Tablet.
Pregnancy
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Gabantip AT Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
Breast feeding
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Gabantip AT Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Driving
UNSAFE - Gabantip AT Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Gabantip AT Tablet may impair your alertness which may affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Gabantip AT Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Gabantip AT Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
CAUTION - Gabantip AT Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Gabantip AT Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Gabantip AT Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
What If You Forget to take Gabantip AT 10/300mg Tablet 10s?
If you miss a dose of Gabantip AT Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
