In Treatment of Diarrhea Diarrhea is a condition in which you frequently pass loose, watery stools. Gastrogyl Plus 250 mg/600 mg/10 mg Tablet helps treat diarrhea by killing the bacteria causing infections as well as prevents them from multiplying. It makes the stool less watery as well as reduces the frequency of loose motions. Gastrogyl Plus 250 mg/600 mg/10 mg Tablet also gives relief from cramps in the stomach and intestines. It helps to ease bloating and discomfort associated with diarrhea. This helps you to stay well and do your daily activities without any problem.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Dryness in mouth, Vomiting, Metallic taste, Stomach pain, Headache, Dizziness, Blurred vision, Sleepiness, Weakness, Nervousness']

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Gastrogyl Plus 250 mg/600 mg/10 mg Tablet is to be taken with food. Avoid Gastrogyl Plus 250 mg/600 mg/10 mg Tablet with dairy products such as milk, cheese, curd, butter, paneer and ice cream.

Gastrogyl Plus 250 mg/600 mg/10 mg Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Ciprofloxacin, tinidazole and dicyclomine which treat diarrhoea. Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and repairing themselves. Tinidazole is also an antibiotic which kills other infectious microorganisms in addition to bacteria by damaging their DNA. Dicyclomine is an antispasmodic which works by relaxing the muscles in your stomach and gut (intestine). It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms). In doing this, it relieves cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort.

Alcohol

UNSAFE - Consuming alcohol while taking Gastrogyl Plus 250 mg/600 mg/10 mg Tablet may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heart beat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure (Disulfiram reaction).

Pregnancy

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Gastrogyl Plus 250 mg/600 mg/10 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Gastrogyl Plus 250 mg/600 mg/10 mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Driving

UNSAFE - Gastrogyl Plus 250 mg/600 mg/10 mg Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Gastrogyl Plus 250 mg/600 mg/10 mg Tablet may make you feel drowsy or gives you problems with coordination or sensation (e.g. numbness or weakness). This may affect your driving ability.

Kidney

CAUTION - Gastrogyl Plus 250 mg/600 mg/10 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Gastrogyl Plus 250 mg/600 mg/10 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Gastrogyl Plus 250 mg/600 mg/10 mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Gastrogyl Plus 250 mg/600 mg/10 mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

If you miss a dose of Gastrogyl Plus 250 mg/600 mg/10 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
