Gdcit Tablet is a combination medicine used to treat dry cough. It thins the mucus in the nose and windpipe, making it easier to cough out. It also relieves allergy symptoms like watery eyes, sneezing, runny nose, and throat irritation. Gdcit Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine. The most common side effects are nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, stomach pain, headache, rash, fatigue, and dryness in the mouth. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. This medicine can also cause sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can make sleepiness worse. Never support self-medication or recommend your medicine to another person. Dry cough

Gdcit Tablet suppresses severe dry cough and gives you relief from an itchy throat. Apart from this, it also reduces symptoms of allergy like watery eyes, sneezing and runny nose. Along with taking Gdcit Tablet, gargling with warm salt water and having ginger or honey can help you manage dry cough.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them. Gdcit Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Guaifenesin, dextromethorphan and cetirizine which relieve dry cough. Guaifenesin is an expectorant which decreases the stickiness of mucus (phlegm) and help in its removal from the airways. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain. Cetirizine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing.

Pregnancy
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Gdcit Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
Breast feeding
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Gdcit Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby. Larger doses or prolonged use of Gdcit Tablet may cause sleepiness and other effects in the baby
Driving
UNSAFE - Gdcit Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Gdcit Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Gdcit Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
UNSAFE - Gdcit Tablet is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided. Please consult your doctor.
If you miss a dose of Gdcit Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
