In Treatment of Bacterial infections : Griflox MS Syrup is an antibiotic medicine given to children for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections such as tooth abscess, gum infection, pneumonia, diarrhea, dysentery, peritonitis, burning sensation while passing urine, and certain genital tract infections. This medicine inhibits the growth of infection-causing bacteria by stopping it from multiplying. You may start seeing an improvement in the infection within 3 to 5 days of regular dosing. But, you must still finish the full course of the medicine and never stop it abruptly by yourself as that may worsen your child�s condition or cause infection recurrence.

How to use Griflox MS Syrup Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Griflox MS Syrup can be taken it with or without food, although it's advisable to take it consistently at the same time.

How Griflox MS Syrup works Griflox MS Syrup is a combination of three active ingredients. While two of its ingredients, namely ofloxacin and metronidazole are antibiotics, simethicone is a gas-absorbing agent that improves gastric tolerability of the combination. The antibiotic ingredients interfere with the genetic material of bacteria by impairing its DNA. This kills the infection-causing bacteria, preventing its growth and stopping the infection. On the other hand, Simethicone binds with the gas bubbles produced as a result of the other two ingredients or as a result of some other problem. By doing so, it aids in the removal of gases and provides relief in stomach pain and bloating.

Alcohol

Unsafe: It is unsafe to consume alcohol while taking Griflox MS Syrup , as it may lead to symptoms such as flushing, increased heart rate, nausea, thirst, chest pain, and low blood pressure, known as a Disulfiram reaction.

Pregnancy

Griflox MS Syrup may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.

Breast feeding

Griflox MS Syrup is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Driving

Griflox MS Syrup may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.Griflox MS Syrup may make you feel sleepy, dizzy, confused. You may have hallucinations, fits (convulsions) or temporary eyesight problems (such as blurred or double vision) affecting your ability to drive.

Kidney

Liver

Remain calm. Unless your child�s doctor has provided specific instructions, administer the missed dose once recalled. If it's nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed one. Adhere to the prescribed dosing schedule and avoid administering a double dose to compensate for the missed one.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

Diarrhea is a common side effect of this medicine. If it occurs, make sure your child drinks plenty of water. Your child may have an altered taste or furry tongue (coating of Griflox MS Syrup on tongue) after taking Griflox MS Syrup. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Griflox MS Syrup as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Never use this medicine for the common cold and flu as they are caused by viruses and Griflox MS Syrup treats only bacterial infections. Discontinue Griflox MS Syrup and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing. Only give Griflox MS Syrup to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses.
