Kapikof Syrup

Cough

In Cough Kapikof Syrup gives relief from cough by loosening thick mucus and making it easier to cough it out. It also makes it easier for air to move in and out of your airways. This reduces the frequency of coughing and makes you feel better. Kapikof Syrup also relieves allergy symptoms like watery eyes, sneezing, runny nose or throat irritation. Take it in the exact dose and duration as prescribed by the doctor. Steam inhalation with few drops of eucalyptus oil can loosen mucus and reduce congestion and coughing.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Vomiting, Headache, Tiredness, Dryness in mouth, Nausea, Upset stomach']

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Kapikof Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Kapikof Syrup is a combination of five medicines: Ambroxol, Cetirizine, Phenylephrine, Guaifenesin and Menthol. Ambroxol and Guaifenesin work by decreasing the stickiness of mucus (phlegm) which helps in its removal from the airways. Cetirizine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing temporary relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Menthol produces a cooling sensation and relieves minor throat irritation.

Alcohol

CAUTION - Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Kapikof Syrup. Please consult your doctor.

Pregnancy

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Kapikof Syrup may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Kapikof Syrup is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving

UNSAFE - Kapikof Syrup may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.

Kidney

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Kapikof Syrup is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Kapikof Syrup may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Liver

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Kapikof Syrup is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Kapikof Syrup may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

If you miss a dose of Kapikof Syrup, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
