Lorfast D 5mg/120mg Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of allergy symptoms like runny nose, sneezing, throat irritation, watery eyes and congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Lorfast D 5mg/120mg Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine. The most common side effects are headache, dryness in mouth, nausea, vomiting, restlessness, and tiredness. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. It can also cause drowsiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your drowsiness. Never support self-medication or recommend your medicine to another person. It is beneficial to have plenty of fluids while taking this medication. Before taking it, you should tell your doctor if you have any liver or kidney diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you. It works by reducing certain substances in the body called histamines that are responsible for the allergic symptoms. It also reduces swelling inside the nose and thus decreases symptoms such as stuffy nose. This helps in easy breathing and makes you feel better. Drink plenty of liquids, including chicken soup. It can make you feel better.

Lorfast D 5mg/120mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Loratadine and Pseudoephedrine, which relieves sneezing and runny nose caused due to allergies. Loratadine is an antiallergic which blocks the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing temporary relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.
Alcohol
UNSAFE - Lorfast D 5mg/120mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.
Pregnancy

Breast feeding

Driving
SAFE - Lorfast D 5mg/120mg Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
CAUTION - Lorfast D 5mg/120mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Lorfast D 5mg/120mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Lorfast D 5mg/120mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver
CAUTION - Lorfast D 5mg/120mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Lorfast D 5mg/120mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
If you miss a dose of Lorfast D 5mg/120mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
