Cancer of colon and rectum

In Cancer of colon and rectum Luporal Capsule treats cancer of the colon and rectum as well as lowers the risk of developing further cancerous growths. Using this medicine helps you recover more comfortably from chemotherapy. It is usually taken for 28 days (four weeks), followed by a seven day break. The cycle is then repeated. Follow your doctor's advice strictly during the entire treatment. Avoid drinking alcohol or smoking while having this treatment and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Vomiting, Tiredness, Mouth sore, Sore tongue, Stomach pain, Diarrhea, Loss of appetite, Decreased blood cells (red cells, white cells, and platelets)']

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Luporal Capsule may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Luporal Capsule is a combination of two medicines: Tegafur and Uracil which treat cancer. They work by interfering with the growth of DNA and RNA of cancer cells by substituting their building blocks. This prevents the cancer cells from growing and multiplying.

Alcohol

Pregnancy

UNSAFE - Luporal Capsule is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor's advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.

Breast feeding

Driving

UNSAFE - Luporal Capsule may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Luporal Capsule may make you tired, nauseous or have blurred vision and this may affect your ability to drive.

If you miss a dose of Luporal Capsule, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
