Pain relief

In Pain relief Ostigard 100 Capsule gives relief from pain in inflammatory conditions that affect muscles and joints such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and back pain. Ostigard 100 Capsule if taken at the start of symptoms of joint pain might prevent further damage of joints. It also helps manage toothache, or pain in the ear and throat. It works by blocking the action of certain chemicals that causes pain and swelling. By reducing pain, it improves the quality of your life.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Stomach pain, Indigestion, Flatulence, Swelling of hands, Feet swelling, Flu-like symptoms, Urine discoloration']

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Ostigard 100 Capsule is to be taken with food.

Ostigard 100 Capsule is a combination of two medicines: celecoxib and diacerein which relieve pain. Celecoxib is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Diacerein is a proteoglycan synthesis stimulator which also blocks the chemicals that cause inflammation and pain and helps in the building of cartilage (soft tissue around the joints) in the body.

Alcohol

UNSAFE - It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Ostigard 100 Capsule.

Pregnancy

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Ostigard 100 Capsule is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Ostigard 100 Capsule is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving

UNSAFE - Ostigard 100 Capsule may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Ostigard 100 Capsule is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Ostigard 100 Capsule may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Liver

UNSAFE - Ostigard 100 Capsule is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided. Please consult your doctor.

If you miss a dose of Ostigard 100 Capsule, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
