In Treatment of High calcium levels in the blood Calcium is a mineral found in different places in your body and has many functions including bone growth. Most of your calcium should be in your bones. When you have more calcium in your blood than normal it is called hypercalcemia. Pth 60mg Tablet reduces the amount of calcium in your blood. Being immobile makes hypercalcemia worse. Whenever possible you should take regular exercise, especially weight-bearing exercise. Do not take calcium or vitamin D3 supplements and try to decrease your intake of these in your diet. In Treatment of Hyperparathyroidism Hyperparathyroidism is a condition in which the parathyroid glands become overactive and secrete too much parathyroid hormone. This leads to high levels of calcium in our blood, a condition called hypercalcemia. Pth 60mg Tablet helps reduce this increased secretion of parathyroid hormone and restores the calcium levels to normal. It helps prevent complications of hypercalcemia such as osteoporosis (a bone disorder), frequent fracture, reduced height, kidney stones etc.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Nausea, Rash, Headache, Muscle pain, Diarrhea']

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Pth 60mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Pth 60mg Tablet works by lowering a chemical (parathyroid hormone), which makes calcium level go back to normal.

Alcohol

Pregnancy

Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Pth 60mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Driving

UNSAFE - Pth 60mg Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Dizziness and seizures have been reported by patients taking Pth 60mg Tablet. This may affect your driving ability.

Kidney

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Pth 60mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Pth 60mg Tablet is recommended.

Liver

CAUTION - Pth 60mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Pth 60mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

If you miss a dose of Pth 60mg Tablet, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.
