Hypertension (high blood pressure)

In Hypertension (high blood pressure) Rasilez Hct 150 mg/12.5 mg Tablet relaxes the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily around your body. It also eliminates excess water from the body and increases urine output. This lowers your blood pressure and reduces your risk of having a stroke, a heart attack, or kidney problems in the future. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well. You should take it regularly as prescribed for this medicine to be most effective, even if you feel better.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Dizziness, Tiredness, Flu-like symptoms, Vertigo, Increased potassium level in blood, Cough']

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Rasilez Hct 150 mg/12.5 mg Tablet is to be taken with food.

Rasilez Hct 150 mg/12.5 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Aliskiren and Hydrochlorothiazide. Aliskiren is a direct renin inhibitor. It works by blocking an enzyme (renin) which causes the blood vessels to tighten. This relaxes blood vessels, lowers blood pressure and allows the heart to pump more efficiently. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic. It removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body by increasing the amount of urine produced. Over time it also works by relaxing blood vessels and improves blood flow.

Alcohol

UNSAFE - Rasilez Hct 150 mg/12.5 mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.

Pregnancy

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Rasilez Hct 150 mg/12.5 mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Rasilez Hct 150 mg/12.5 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving

UNSAFE - Rasilez Hct 150 mg/12.5 mg Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney

CAUTION - Rasilez Hct 150 mg/12.5 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Rasilez Hct 150 mg/12.5 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Limited information is available on the use of Rasilez Hct 150 mg/12.5 mg Tablet in these patients. Regular monitoring of creatinine and potassium levels is recommended while you are taking this medicine.

Liver

CAUTION - Rasilez Hct 150 mg/12.5 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Rasilez Hct 150 mg/12.5 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

If you miss a dose of Rasilez Hct 150 mg/12.5 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
