Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
In Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) is a group of lung diseases that cause breathing difficulties. COPD is caused by swelling of the airways that carry air in and out of the lungs. Shwas Syrup relaxes the muscles of these airways and widens it. It also gives relief from congestion or stuffiness by loosening thick mucus and helping to cough out. This makes you breathe easy and gives relief from symptoms such as tightness in your chest, shortness of breath, wheezing and coughing. Avoid smoking and minimise your exposure to pollution, dust and fumes. Along with that, a little exercise each day can help you stay strong. Talk to your doctor about how much exercise is good for you.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Vomiting, Stomach discomfort, Bloating, Diarrhea, Dizziness, Headache, Sweating, Skin rash, Muscle cramp, Restlessness, Tremors, Palpitations, Increased heart rate']
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Shwas Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Shwas Syrup is a combination of four medicines: Bromhexine, etofylline, menthol and albuterol. Bromhexine is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Etofylline and albuterol are bronchodilators which work by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widen the airways. Menthol is an organic compound which produces a sensation of coolness and relieves minor throat irritation.
