Dry cough

In Dry cough A dry cough is a cough where no phlegm or mucus is produced. It may cause a tickling sensation or itching in the throat and may be due to cold, flu, allergies, or throat irritants. Silkof Syrup suppresses dry cough and gives you relief from an itchy throat. Along with taking Silkof Syrup, gargling with warm salt water, and having ginger or honey can help you manage dry cough. Silkof Syrup will also relieve allergy symptoms like watery eyes, sneezing, runny nose and help you carry out your daily activities more easily. Take it as prescribed by the doctor.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Vomiting, Stomach pain/epigastric pain, Loss of appetite, Headache, Dizziness, Sleepiness, Impaired coordination, Itching, Skin rash, Restlessness, Insomnia (difficulty in sleeping), Excitement']

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Silkof Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Silkof Syrup is a combination of four medicines: Phenylephrine, Menthol, Diphenhydramine and Chlorpheniramine Maleate. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Menthol produces a sensation of coolness and relieves minor throat irritation. Diphenhydramine and Chlorpheniramine are antiallergics which relieve allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing.

Alcohol

CAUTION - Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Silkof Syrup. Please consult your doctor.

Pregnancy

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Silkof Syrup may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Silkof Syrup is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby. Larger doses or prolonged use of Silkof Syrup may cause sleepiness and other effects in the baby

Driving

UNSAFE - Silkof Syrup may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Silkof Syrup is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Silkof Syrup may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor. Use of Silkof Syrup may cause excessive sleepiness in patients with end stage kidney disease.

Liver

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Silkof Syrup is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Silkof Syrup may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

If you miss a dose of Silkof Syrup, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
