When the infection moves into a long-lasting stage, it is called chronic hepatitis C virus infection. Sovihep V Tablet helps reduce the number of hepatitis C virus by preventing it from spreading in your body. This helps control the infection and helps you recover faster. It is important that you take this medicine as prescribed, following the dosage recommended by your doctor.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Sovihep V Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Sovihep V Tablet is a combination of two antiviral medicines: Sofosbuvir and Velpatasvir. They work by lowering the amount of hepatitis C virus in the body and removing the virus from the blood over a period of time.
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Sovihep V Tablet. Please consult your doctor.
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Sovihep V Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Sovihep V Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
UNSAFE - Sovihep V Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Sovihep V Tablet, when taken together with other medicines for the treatment of hepatitis c infection, may produce dizziness, blurred vision and this may affect your ability to drive.
CAUTION - Sovihep V Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Sovihep V Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Limited information is available on the use of Sovihep V Tablet in these patients. No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate kidney disease.
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Sovihep V Tablet is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment of Sovihep V Tablet is recommended. However, inform your doctor if you have any kidney disease as regular monitoring of liver function tests may be advised in some patients while taking this medicine.
If you miss a dose of Sovihep V Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
