Irritable bowel syndrome

In Irritable bowel syndrome Irritable bowel syndrome is a chronic (long-term) inflammatory disease of the large intestine (colon) that usually needs long-term management. This can lead to bleeding, frequent diarrhea, bloating, flatulence, cramps, and stomach pain. Spasmolar Tablet relaxes the muscles in your stomach and gut (intestine) and relieves these symptoms effectively. Usually, it is used along with other medicines for the management of your condition. Continue taking it for as long as the doctor may advise you to. Take a fiber-rich diet, avoid oily or spicy food and drink plenty of fluids while taking it to make sure you stay hydrated.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Constipation, Dryness in mouth, Dizziness, Blurred vision, Sleepiness, Weakness, Nervousness, Urinary retention']

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Spasmolar Tablet is to be taken with food.

Spasmolar Tablet is a combination of four medicines: dicyclomine, clidinium, dimethicone and paracetamol. Dicyclomine and clidinium are antispasmodics which work by relaxing the muscles in your stomach and gut (intestine). They stop sudden muscle contractions (spasms). By doing this, they relieve cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort. Dimethicone is as an anti-foaming agent. It breaks down the gas bubbles inside the stomach and allows easy passage of the gas. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and anti-pyretic (fever reducer) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause fever and pain.

Alcohol

UNSAFE - It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Spasmolar Tablet.

Pregnancy

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Spasmolar Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Information regarding the use of Spasmolar Tablet during breastfeeding is not available. Please consult your doctor.

Driving

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - It is not known whether Spasmolar Tablet alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.

Kidney

CAUTION - Spasmolar Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Spasmolar Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver

CAUTION - Spasmolar Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Spasmolar Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. However, the use of Spasmolar Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.

If you miss a dose of Spasmolar Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
