Storvas D 10 Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Atorvastatin and Vitamin D3 which treat high cholesterol. Atorvastatin is a lipid-lowering medication (statin). It works by blocking an enzyme (HMG-Co A-reductase) that is required in the body to make cholesterol. It thus lowers "bad" cholesterol (LDL), triglycerides and raises "good" cholesterol (HDL). Vitamin D3 is added to relieve the muscular pain caused by Atorvastatin.

Alcohol

Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Storvas D 10 Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.

Pregnancy

Not Safe: Storvas D 10 Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor's advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.

Breast feeding

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Storvas D 10 Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving

SAFE - Storvas D 10 Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.

Kidney

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Storvas D 10 Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Storvas D 10 Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Doctor consultation is advised.

Liver

If a dose of Storvas D 10 Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Storvas D 10 Tablet treats high cholesterol by lowering "bad" cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides (fats). It should be taken in addition to regular exercise and low-fat diet. It decreases the risk of heart diseases and helps prevent stroke and heart attack. It should be taken in the evening after dinner and before sleeping. In general, Storvas D 10 Tablet is safe. It may cause diarrhoea, gas or an upset stomach. If any of these happen to you, take it with food. It may cause the amount of calcium in your blood to fall. Take calcium rich food in your diet and have regular blood tests to monitor the level of calcium in your blood. Notify your doctor if you experience yellow eyes or skin or dark urine after starting the medication.
