Bacterial infections

In Bacterial infections Tecpime Injection works by killing bacteria which can cause bacterial infections. It is used to treat many different types of bacterial infections. It is given by a doctor or nurse into a vein and should not be self-administered. Tecpime Injection usually makes you feel better very quickly but you should continue taking it as prescribed even when you feel better to make sure that all bacteria are killed and do not become resistant.

The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Tecpime Injection is a combination of two medicines: Cefepime and Sulbactam. Cefepime is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which blocks the action of enzymes produced by bacteria to inactivate cefepime. Addition of Sulbactam reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Cefepime against bacteria.

Alcohol

Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Tecpime Injection 2000/100 as it is deemed unsafe.

Pregnancy

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Tecpime Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Breast feeding

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Tecpime Injection is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.

Driving

Not Safe: Tecpime Injection may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.

Kidney

Caution Advised: Tecpime Injection should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Tecpime Injection may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.

Liver

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Tecpime Injection is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Tecpime Injection may not be needed in these patients. Doctor consultation is advised.

If a dose of Tecpime Injection 2000/100 is missed, it's advisable to consult your doctor.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

You have been prescribed this combination medicine to treat bacterial infections, even if they have developed resistance. Finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection to come back and harder to treat. Talk to your doctor if you notice bloody stools or develop abdominal cramps. Inform your doctor immediately if you develop an itchy rash, swelling of the face, throat or tongue or breathing difficulties while taking it.
