It also eliminates excess water from the body and increases urine output. This lowers your blood pressure and reduces your risk of having a stroke, a heart attack, or kidney problems in the future. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well. You should take it regularly as prescribed for this medicine to be most effective, even if you feel better.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Telmera AH 40mg/5mg/12.5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Telmera AH 40mg/5mg/12.5mg Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Telmisartan, Amlodipine and Hydrochlorothiazide. Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) and Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB). They work by widening and relaxing the blood vessels, thereby lowering blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic which removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body through urine. Over time it also works by relaxing blood vessels and improves blood flow.
UNSAFE - It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Telmera AH 40mg/5mg/12.5mg Tablet.
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Telmera AH 40mg/5mg/12.5mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Telmera AH 40mg/5mg/12.5mg Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
UNSAFE - Telmera AH 40mg/5mg/12.5mg Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Telmera AH 40mg/5mg/12.5mg Tablet may cause side effects such as dizziness, headaches, nausea or tiredness, all of which could affect your ability to concentrate and drive.
CAUTION - Telmera AH 40mg/5mg/12.5mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Telmera AH 40mg/5mg/12.5mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Telmera AH 40mg/5mg/12.5mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
CAUTION - Telmera AH 40mg/5mg/12.5mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Telmera AH 40mg/5mg/12.5mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
If you miss a dose of Telmera AH 40mg/5mg/12.5mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
