Overactive bladder (OAB) symptoms

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them. Toltam Capsule is an alpha blocker. It works by relaxing the muscles around the bladder exit and prostate gland so urine is passed more easily. This helps empty the bladder completely and reduces the need to pass urine frequently or urgently in BPH.

Alcohol

UNSAFE - Toltam Capsule may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.

Pregnancy

Driving

UNSAFE - Toltam Capsule may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney

CAUTION - Toltam Capsule should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Toltam Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver

CAUTION - Toltam Capsule should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Toltam Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

If you miss a dose of Toltam Capsule, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
