In Pain due to muscle spasm Tolunac 50mg/2mg Tablet treats pain due to muscle spasm by relaxing stiff muscles. It also reduces swelling in the muscles. Altogether, it helps in easy movement and reduces discomfort. Once you see some improvement, you can start doing therapy exercises (such as walking or breathing exercises) that will help you get your strength back more quickly.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Vomiting, Stomach pain/epigastric pain, Heartburn, Diarrhea, Dryness in mouth, Loss of appetite, Sleepiness']

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Tolunac 50mg/2mg Tablet is to be taken with food.

Tolunac 50mg/2mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Diclofenac and Tizanidine, which relieves pain and relaxes the muscles. Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Tizanidine is a muscle relaxant. It works on the centres in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm and to improve pain and movement of muscles.

Alcohol

UNSAFE - It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Tolunac 50mg/2mg Tablet.

Pregnancy

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Tolunac 50mg/2mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Tolunac 50mg/2mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Driving

UNSAFE - Tolunac 50mg/2mg Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Tolunac 50mg/2mg Tablet may cause headaches, blurred vision, dizziness or drowsiness in some patients. This may affect your ability to drive.

Kidney

CAUTION - Tolunac 50mg/2mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Tolunac 50mg/2mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver

CAUTION - Tolunac 50mg/2mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Tolunac 50mg/2mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Tolunac 50mg/2mg Tablet is not advised in patients with severe liver disease. Liver function tests are recommended before the start of treatment and then on a regular basis as advised.

If you miss a dose of Tolunac 50mg/2mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
