Diagnostic agent

In Diagnostic agent Ultravist 0.623gm Infusion contains a radiopaque contrast medium indicated for radiographic examination before an x-ray or CT-scan. It helps for better visualisation of the parts where it is injected by a radiologist or a nurse and helps in diagnosing problems in the inside areas that are not visible to the naked eyes. This enables to diagnose the underlying problem and helps to treat you better.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Taste change, Vomiting, Chest pain, Back pain, Nausea, Abnormal vision, Frequent urge to urinate, Vasodilation, Injection site reactions (pain, swelling, redness)']

Iopromide belongs to a class of drugs known as Iodinated radiographic contrast agent. It enhances imaging due to its high Iodine content attenuating the beam of X-rays during examination.

Alcohol

Pregnancy

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Ultravist 0.623gm Infusion is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Breast feeding

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Ultravist 0.623gm Infusion is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Driving

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - It is not known whether Ultravist 0.623gm Infusion alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.

Kidney

CAUTION - Ultravist 0.623gm Infusion should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Ultravist 0.623gm Infusion may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver

CAUTION - Ultravist 0.623gm Infusion should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Ultravist 0.623gm Infusion may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Not applicable. Ultravist 0.623gm Infusion is given before imaging test, so it is important to take it at the time as advised by the doctor. If you miss the dose, your test results can be inaccurate.
