In Epilepsy Venit-CR 300 Tablet slows down electrical signals in the brain which cause seizures (fits). It can also help reduce symptoms such as confusion, uncontrollable jerking movements, loss of awareness, and fear or anxiety. The medicine can allow you to do some activities that you would otherwise be forbidden or scared to do (such as swimming and driving). It can take a few weeks for this medicine to work (because the dose has to be increased slowly) and during this time you may still have seizures. Do not stop using this medicine even if you feel well, until your doctor advises you to. Missing doses may trigger a seizure.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Venit-CR 300 Tablet is to be taken with food.
Venit-CR 300 Tablet is a combination of two antiepileptic medicines: Sodium Valproate and Valproic Acid. They work together to control seizures or fits by decreasing the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.
UNSAFE - It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Venit-CR 300 Tablet.
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Venit-CR 300 Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Venit-CR 300 Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
UNSAFE - Venit-CR 300 Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Venit-CR 300 Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Venit-CR 300 Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor. However, talk to your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease.
CAUTION - Venit-CR 300 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Venit-CR 300 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Venit-CR 300 Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.
If you miss a dose of Venit-CR 300 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
