Dry cough

In Dry cough A dry cough is a cough where no phlegm or mucus is produced. It may cause a tickling sensation or itching in the throat and may be due to cold, flu, allergies or throat irritants. Zincocet Syrup suppresses severe dry cough and gives you relief from an itchy throat. Apart from this, it also reduces symptoms of allergy like watery eyes, sneezing and runny nose. Along with taking Zincocet Syrup, gargling with warm salt water and having ginger or honey can help you manage dry cough.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Upset stomach, Sleepiness, Fatigue, Dryness in mouth']

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Zincocet Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Zincocet Syrup is a combination of four medicines: Cetirizine, Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide, Zinc and Menthol. Cetirizine is an antiallergic. It works by blocking the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) which triggers cough due to allergy. Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain. Zinc is a nutritional supplement which releases zinc ions into the throat to reduce irritation. Menthol is produces a sensation of coolness and further relieves throat irritation.

UNSAFE - It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Zincocet Syrup.

Pregnancy

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Zincocet Syrup may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Zincocet Syrup is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving

UNSAFE - Zincocet Syrup may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.

Kidney

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Zincocet Syrup is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Zincocet Syrup may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Liver

UNSAFE - Zincocet Syrup is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided. Please consult your doctor.

If you miss a dose of Zincocet Syrup, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
