Wound infection

In Wound infection Zividone-O Ointment is an antiseptic that is used for the treatment and prevention of wound infection. It may be used in first aid for minor cuts, burns, abrasions, ulcers and blisters. It kills and prevents the growth of infection-causing microbes as well as helps in wound healing. Keep the affected area clean and use the medicine as prescribed by your doctor for better results.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them.

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and gently massage the ointment.

Zividone-O Ointment is a combination of two medicines: Povidone Iodine and Ornidazole. Povidone Iodine is an antiseptic applied on skin which is infected or is likely to get infected. It slowly releases iodine which kills or prevents the growth of infectious microorganisms. Ornidazole is an antibiotic which kills bacteria and other infectious microorganisms by damaging the DNA.

Pregnancy

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Zividone-O Ointment may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding

If you miss a dose of Zividone-O Ointment, apply it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
