Treatment of Bacterial infections

In Treatment of Bacterial infections Zocef-CV Dry Syrup contains two different medicines, Cefuroxime and Clavulanic Acid, that work together to kill the bacteria that cause infections. Cefuroxime works by stopping the growth of bacteria. Clavulanic Acid reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Cefuroxime against bacteria. This combination medicine can be used to treat many different bacterial infections such as ear, sinus, throat, lung, urinary tract, skin and soft tissues. It usually makes you feel better within a few days, but you should continue taking it as prescribed even when you feel better to make sure that all bacteria are killed and do not become resistant.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Vomiting, Diarrhea, Abdominal pain, Allergy']

Zocef-CV Dry Syrup is a combination of two medicines: Cefuroxime and Clavulanic Acid. Cefuroxime is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which blocks the action of enzymes produced by bacteria to inactivate Cefuroxime. Addition of Clavulanic Acid reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Cefuroxime against bacteria.

Kidney

CAUTION - Zocef-CV Dry Syrup should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Zocef-CV Dry Syrup may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Zocef-CV Dry Syrup is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment of Zocef-CV Dry Syrup is recommended. However, consult with your child€™s doctor before giving this medicine to your child in case of a severe form of liver disease.
