S-Amlodipine and S-Metoprolol Tartrate are used in the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure).

How it Works

How S-Amlodipine and S-Metoprolol Tartrate work S-Amlodipine and S-Metoprolol Tartrate is a combination of two medications: S-Amlodipine and S-Metoprolol Tartrate. S-Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker. In cases of high blood pressure, it helps normalize blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels, which reduces pressure on them and improves blood flow throughout the body. S-Metoprolol Tartrate is a beta blocker that specifically targets the heart. It works by slowing down the heart rate and making the heart more efficient at pumping blood around the body.

Side Effects

Common side effects of S-Amlodipine and S-Metoprolol Tartrate include fatigue, nausea, abdominal pain, sleepiness, dizziness, headache, slow heart rate, vomiting, and orthostatic hypotension (a sudden drop in blood pressure upon standing).

S-Amlodipine + S-Metoprolol Tartrate is prescribed to:

Reduce high blood pressure
Lower the risk of future heart attacks and strokes

Avoid getting up too quickly from a sitting or lying position, as this may cause dizziness.
Get up slowly and steady yourself to prevent falls.
Monitor your blood pressure regularly after starting treatment and notify your doctor if it does not decrease.
You will also be advised to monitor your blood sugar levels while on treatment with S-Amlodipine + S-Metoprolol Tartrate.
Avoid taking painkillers alongside this medication without consulting your doctor.
