Common side effects of Atenolol and Nifedipine include ankle swelling, headache, tiredness, palpitations, cold extremities, sleepiness, nausea, edema (swelling), slow heart rate, flushing (a sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck, and trunk), and constipation.

  • You have been prescribed Atenolol + Nifedipine for the treatment of high blood pressure.
  • Lowering blood pressure reduces the chance of future heart attacks and strokes.
  • This medication may cause dizziness; therefore, get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position.
  • Do not stop taking the medication suddenly without consulting your doctor, as it can cause a sudden increase in your blood pressure.
  • Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
