How it Works

How Sulphacetamide, Neomycin, and Bacitracin Work Sulphacetamide, Neomycin, and Bacitracin is a combination of three antibiotics: Sulphacetamide, Neomycin, and Bacitracin. Sulphacetamide inhibits bacteria from producing folic acid, a nutrient essential for bacterial multiplication. Neomycin prevents bacterial growth by blocking the synthesis of crucial proteins necessary for the bacteria to perform vital functions. Bacitracin works by disrupting the formation of the bacterial protective covering, ultimately leading to bacterial death. Together, these antibiotics effectively treat your infection.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Sulphacetamide, Neomycin, and Bacitracin include application site reactions such as burning, irritation, itching, and redness.

  • Sulphacetamide + Neomycin + Bacitracin is used for the treatment of bacterial skin infections.
  • Apply a thin film to the affected areas two or three times daily, or as directed by your doctor.
  • Do not use it more frequently or for a longer duration than advised by your doctor.
  • Avoid applying it to broken skin and prevent contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth.
  • Do not cover the treated area with airtight dressings, such as bandages, unless instructed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects.
  • Possible side effects include temporary burning, itching, or redness at the application site, which is usually mild.
  • Consult your doctor if you experience a more severe reaction.
  • Inform your doctor if your skin condition has not improved after seven days of treatment.
