Brinzolamide and Brimonidine are used in the treatment of glaucoma.
How it Works
How Brinzolamide and Brimonidine work Brinzolamide and Brimonidine is a combination of two medicines: Brinzolamide and Brimonidine. Brinzolamide is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor, while Brimonidine is a sympathomimetic. They work by decreasing the production of aqueous humor (fluid in the eye), thereby lowering increased eye pressure.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Brinzolamide and Brimonidine include blurred vision, changes in taste, eye discomfort, ocular hyperemia, sleepiness, and dizziness.
Expert Advice
- Brinzolamide + Brimonidine is a combination of two medications that lowers intraocular pressure and reduces the risk of vision loss.
- Apply pressure to the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for approximately 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop.
- If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them prior to applying these eye drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting your lenses.
- Avoid touching the tip of the dropper to any surface or to your eye to prevent contamination of the eye drops.
- Wait at least 5-10 minutes before administering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution.
- It may cause short-term blurring of vision upon initial use; exercise caution when driving or operating machinery.
- Temporary burning or itching sensations in the eye may occur; inform your doctor if these symptoms persist.
- Ensure to use the medication within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.
