Cefaclor Uses Cefaclor is used to treat bacterial infections. It is effective against serious bacterial infections in various body parts, including the urinary tract, skin and soft tissue, blood, brain, and lungs (pneumonia). Additionally, it is used to prevent infections following surgery.

How Cefaclor works Cefaclor is an antibiotic that kills bacteria by preventing them from forming the protective covering (cell wall) necessary for their survival.

Common side effects of Cefaclor include gastrointestinal symptoms, diarrhea, hypersensitivity, drug eruptions, increased white blood cell count (eosinophils), genital itching, increased liver enzymes, and vaginal inflammation.
