Chlorhexidine Gluconate works by strongly binding to the skin and killing infectious microorganisms. Consequently, it effectively cleans wounds and burns to prevent infection. Silver Nitrate inhibits bacteria from producing folic acid, a nutrient necessary for bacterial multiplication. This action kills the bacteria and treats skin infections resulting from burns.
