How Epalrestat and Pregabalin work Epalrestat and Pregabalin is a combination of two medicines that treat neuropathic pain. Epalrestat is an aldose reductase inhibitor that blocks the accumulation of sorbitol in cells, which contributes to diabetic nerve disease. Pregabalin is an alpha 2 delta ligand that decreases pain by modulating the calcium channel activity of nerve cells.

Common side effects of Epalrestat and Pregabalin include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, drowsiness, dizziness, uncoordinated body movements, and increased liver enzymes.
