How Halobetasol and Fusidic Acid Work Halobetasol and Fusidic Acid is a combination of two medicines that treat skin infections. Halobetasol is a steroid that blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) responsible for making the skin red, swollen, and itchy. Fusidic Acid is an antibiotic that kills bacteria by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required for their vital functions.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Halobetasol and Fusidic Acid include application site reactions such as burning, irritation, itching, and redness, as well as thinning of the skin.

- Halobetasol + Fusidic Acid must be applied as a thin layer on the affected area as prescribed by your doctor.
- Do not use this medicine more frequently or for a longer duration than advised by your doctor.
- Before each application, wash the affected area with soap and water, and dry thoroughly.
- Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, or nose.
- If contact occurs, rinse with cold water immediately.
- Do not cover the treated area with airtight dressings, such as bandages, unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects.
- Inform your doctor if the treated skin area does not improve after 2-4 weeks of treatment.
