Glycerin and Mannitol Uses Glycerin and Mannitol are used in the treatment of cerebral edema.

How it Works

How Glycerin and Mannitol work Glycerin and Mannitol is a combination of two medicines: Glycerin and Mannitol, which treat increased pressure in the skull and brain. Mannitol is an osmotic diuretic that draws water out of tissues in the brain and decreases swelling. The addition of Glycerin helps prevent the swelling from returning, a possibility that may occur with Mannitol alone.
