Common side effects of Granulocyte Colony Stimulating Factor include bone pain, weakness, joint pain, rash, headache, nausea, back pain, pain in extremities, increased white blood cell count, muscle pain, elevated lactate dehydrogenase level in blood, low blood platelets, injection site pain, increased uric acid level in blood, oropharyngeal pain, hair loss, fatigue, elevated liver enzymes, diarrhea, decreased appetite, and constipation.

Granulocyte Colony Stimulating Factor reduces the risk of infection in individuals undergoing chemotherapy.
It is typically administered as a daily injection either into the tissue just beneath the skin or directly into a vein.
You will generally receive your first dose at least 24 hours after your chemotherapy or bone marrow transplant.
Store the medication in the refrigerator, protect it from light, and avoid shaking it.
For a more comfortable injection, allow the syringe to reach room temperature by leaving it out for 30 minutes prior to use.
