How Voglibose, Repaglinide, and Metformin Work Voglibose, Repaglinide, and Metformin is a combination of three antidiabetic medications: Voglibose, Repaglinide, and Metformin. Voglibose suppresses the intestinal enzymes that break down complex sugars into simple sugars, such as glucose, thereby delaying glucose absorption. Repaglinide increases the amount of insulin, the glucose-lowering hormone, released from the pancreas during meals. Together, they prevent blood sugar levels from rising significantly after meals. Metformin works by reducing glucose production in the liver, delaying glucose absorption from the intestines, and increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin.
Common side effects of Voglibose, Repaglinide, and Metformin include skin rash, taste changes, nausea, flatulence, diarrhea, stomach pain, loss of appetite, and hypoglycemia (low blood glucose level).
