Natamycin is used in the treatment of fungal infections of the eye.

How Natamycin works Natamycin is an antifungal medication that eliminates fungi by disrupting the fungal cell membrane.
Expert Advice
- Natamycin should be used according to the dose and duration recommended by your doctor.
- Apply gentle pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop.
- Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before administering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution.
- Remove contact lenses before using Natamycin, and allow at least 15 minutes before re-inserting them.
- It may cause temporary blurring of vision upon initial use.
- Exercise caution when driving or operating machinery.
- Consult your doctor if symptoms worsen or do not improve within 2 weeks of treatment.
