How it Works
How Potassium Chloride, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Bicarbonate, and Polyethylene Glycol Work Potassium Chloride, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Bicarbonate, and Polyethylene Glycol contains potassium chloride, sodium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, and polyethylene glycol. Potassium chloride functions by raising potassium levels in the blood. Sodium chloride is a purified salt solution that helps replenish salt and electrolyte levels in the body. Sodium bicarbonate acts as an alkalizer by increasing the pH of blood and urine, thereby correcting metabolic acidosis (high acid levels in the body). It also aids in the removal of toxic substances from the body in certain types of poisoning. In cases of excessive fluid loss, such as diarrhea, it replenishes salt and electrolyte levels. Polyethylene glycol works by drawing water into the intestine through osmosis, which softens the stool and makes it easier to pass. Additionally, it helps cleanse the intestines prior to medical procedures or examinations.
