How it Works
How Tinidazole and Povidone Iodine work Tinidazole and Povidone Iodine is a combination of two medicines: Tinidazole and Povidone Iodine. Tinidazole is an antibiotic that kills bacteria and other infectious microorganisms by damaging their DNA. Povidone Iodine is an antiseptic applied to infected skin or skin at risk of infection. It slowly releases iodine, which kills or prevents the growth of infectious microorganisms.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Tinidazole and Povidone Iodine include application site reactions such as burning, irritation, itching, and redness, as well as dry skin.
Expert Advice
- Clean the wound thoroughly.
- Apply the cream to the affected area using a sterile gloved hand or a sterile spatula.
- Apply the cream once or twice daily.
- Reapply to any areas from which the cream is removed due to activity.
- Ensure that burn areas are covered with the cream at all times.
- Be aware that the cream may cause minor burning, stinging, or irritation upon application.
- Inform your doctor if any discomfort does not subside.
- Avoid contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth.
- If the cream accidentally gets into these areas, rinse it off with water immediately.
