Tolnaftate is used in the treatment of fungal skin infections.

How it Works

How Tolnaftate works Tolnaftate is an antifungal medication that prevents the growth of fungal cell walls. It also inhibits the formation of fungal colonies. This mechanism leads to the death of fungi and alleviates your infection.

Expert Advice

Keep your feet clean and dry, particularly between the toes.
Cut your nails short and prefer open-toe shoes for everyday use.
Use a separate clean towel for your feet and wear clean cotton socks.
Never share your socks, shoes, or towel with others.
Apply medication once or twice a day as prescribed by your doctor. Do not apply more frequently or use for a longer duration than directed.
Before each application, wash the affected area with soap and water, then dry it thoroughly.
Consult your doctor if your skin condition has not improved after 10 days of treatment.
Do not use the medication for more than 2 consecutive weeks at a time.
