Vasopressin Uses: Vasopressin is used in the treatment of bleeding esophageal varices, diabetes insipidus, bed-wetting, and low blood pressure.

How it Works

How Vasopressin Works Vasopressin has the same structure as the natural hormone vasopressin. It reduces urine output and bleeding by constricting (narrowing) blood vessels, which in turn prevents water loss from the body.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Vasopressin include slow heart rate, reduced cardiac output, tachyarrhythmia, decreased sodium levels in the blood, and ischemia.
