How to use
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Eslo-Met -5 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
How it works
Eslo-Met -5 Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Amlodipine and Metoprolol, which lowers blood pressure effectively. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker which works by relaxing blood vessels while metoprolol is a beta blocker that works specifically on the heart to slow down the heart rate. Together, they make the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body.
UNSAFE - It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Eslo-Met -5 Tablet.
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Eslo-Met -5 Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Eslo-Met -5 Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
UNSAFE - Eslo-Met -5 Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Eslo-Met -5 Tablet may cause side effects such as dizziness, headaches, nausea or tiredness, all of which could affect your ability to concentrate and drive.
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Eslo-Met -5 Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Eslo-Met -5 Tablet is recommended.
CAUTION - Eslo-Met -5 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Eslo-Met -5 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
What if I forget to take it?
If you miss a dose of Eslo-Met -5 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
