Osteoporosis

In Osteoporosis Osteoporosis is a common condition that causes bones to become fragile and brittle so that they break (fracture) more easily. Fractures may be painful and restrict a person?s ability to carry out their normal daily tasks. Fosabest Tablet reduces the risk of a fracture occurring in osteoporosis. It also helps in the growth and development of bones as well as maintain strong bones. Since osteoporosis doesn?t usually have any symptoms such as pain (until a fracture occurs) you might not ?feel? any immediate benefit from your treatment with Fosabest Tablet. Keep taking it untill your doctor asks you to stop. Along with medicines, eat a balanced diet rich in calcium and vitamin D like dairy products, green leafy vegetables etc.

The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Ingest it without breaking or crushing. Do not chew, crush or break it. Fosabest Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.

Fosabest Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Alendronic Acid and Vitamin D3 which treat osteoporosis. Alendronic Acid is a bisphosphonate. It works by suppressing the activity of osteoclasts, cells that cause destruction of bone. This strengthens the bone and minimizes the risk of fractures. Vitamin D3 helps protect your bones, both by increasing calcium absorption and by supporting muscles needed to avoid falls.

Alcohol

Caution: It is important to consult your doctor regarding alcohol consumption while taking Fosabest Tablet .

Pregnancy

Seek medical advice from your doctor: Fosabest Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.

Breast feeding

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Fosabest Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby. If you are taking Fosabest Tablet during breastfeeding, monitor baby's blood calcium levels during the first two months.

Driving

Not Safe: Fosabest Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. Fosabest Tablet is not expected to have any effects but in rare cases, it may cause dizziness, severe muscle, joint and bone pain and eye pain or inflammation. This may affect your ability to drive.

Kidney

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Fosabest Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Fosabest Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Doctor consultation is advised.

Liver

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Fosabest Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Fosabest Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Doctor consultation is advised.

If a dose of Fosabest Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

Fosabest Tablet is used in the treatment of osteoporosis Take it on the same day each week, in the morning, at least 30 minutes before eating or drinking anything. Maintain an upright posture for 30 minutes after taking the medication so the medicine doesnot irritate your food pipe. Take care of your teeth and jaw while taking the Fosabest Tablet and for regular dental checkup while taking Fosabest Tablet. Take calcium and vitamin enriched diet. Side effects such as headache, back pain and indigestion may occur.
