No, Fractide Injection is not a steroid. It is used to treat osteoporosis, particularly in postmenopausal women and men at increased fracture risk, sometimes related to long-term steroid use.
Fractide Injection should be avoided in patients with kidney impairment, Paget's disease, bone cancers, or high serum calcium levels. It is also not recommended for children, young adults, or pregnant or lactating women. Always inform your doctor of any medical conditions or medications before starting treatment.
Store Fractide Injection in the refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C. Avoid freezing, as it can damage the medicine. If stored properly, it can be used for up to 28 days after the first injection. Discard any unused pen after 28 days.
Fractide Injection should not be taken for more than a 2-year course. Inform your doctor if you have previously taken this medication, as you should not have more than one 24-month treatment in your lifetime.
