It helps get rid of extra glucose from your body through urine. Lowering blood glucose levels is an essential part of managing diabetes. If you can control the level, you will reduce the risk of getting any of the serious complications of diabetes such as kidney damage, eye damage, nerve problems and loss of limbs. This medicine will reduce the risk of dying from cardiovascular disease if you have type 2 diabetes and already have cardiovascular disease. Taking this medicine regularly along with proper diet and exercise will help you live a normal, healthy life. You should keep using it for as long as it is prescribed because it is protecting your future health.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you're worried about them. Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Glyxambi 10mg/5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Glyxambi 10mg/5mg Tablet is a combination of two antidiabetic medicines: Empagliflozin and Linagliptin. Empagliflozin works by removing excess glucose from your body through urine. Linagliptin works by lowering glucose production in the liver, delaying glucose absorption from intestines and increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin.

Alcohol

UNSAFE - It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Glyxambi 10mg/5mg Tablet.

Pregnancy

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Glyxambi 10mg/5mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feeding

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Glyxambi 10mg/5mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Driving

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - It is not known whether Glyxambi 10mg/5mg Tablet alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.

Kidney

CAUTION - Glyxambi 10mg/5mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Glyxambi 10mg/5mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Glyxambi 10mg/5mg Tablet is contraindicated in patients with severe kidney disease or in dialysis.

Liver

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Glyxambi 10mg/5mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment of Glyxambi 10mg/5mg Tablet is recommended. However, the use is not recommended in severe hepatic impairment due to the lack of studies performed in such cases.

If you miss a dose of Glyxambi 10mg/5mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
